Harrison, our Founder, Co-President and Head of Layout is a senior BB&C major from Boulder, Colorado. When he’s outside you can find him climbing, skiing or just taking in the views. Harrison founded the WOJ from various visions and ideas ultimately hoping it can act as a conduit to building connection and improving DEIA in Whitman’s outdoor community. It’s been a massive task to reconcile accessibility, but he believes that by diversifying local outdoor representation and promoting wats we can help each other overcome barriers is a solid place to start! 

I am a senior from Bellingham, WA majoring in Psychology with minors in Economics and Race and Ethnic Studies. Some of my favorite outdoor activties are skiing, backpacking, and climbing. I espcially love speding time outdoors with people I care about, like my friends and family, and sharing new experinces with people, like the middle school students that I lead on summer outdoor trips.

I'm a senior from Bellevue, Washington majoring in Environmental Studies, Anthropology and Japanese. I love to fish and ski!

I am a senior from Snoqualmie, WA majoring in Physics with a minor in Data Science. I love to backpack, ski, and climb whenever I can. I also enjoy teaching at the Whitman Climbing Center! The outdoors has been a real highlight of my time at Whitman, and I enjoy getting out in the nearby areas!

Hali is an avid climber, backpacker and photographer who strives to share her love for the outdoors!

So far no one else has figured out how to edit the website to they can't make me have a normal bio. That also (unfortunately) means that I am the only person to blame for the typos and mistakes on the website.

I am a sophomore from Boise, Idaho majoring in Biology and Environmental Studies. I love skiing, watersports, hiking, and playing soccer. I am always interested in trying new outdoor activities, and I see Whitman as such a safe and welcoming space to do so - especially surrounded by both old and new friends!

Ava is a junior BB&C major from Fairbanks, Alaska. She enjoys reading, baking, backpacking, cross country and downhill skiing. Ava decided to join the WOJ because she wanted to meet other people who love spending time outdoors and hear about their adventures!

Monyati is a first year from Jordan. Her favorite place to recreate is Niagara Falls and she enjoys cooking, reading, backpacking, hiking and swimming. Monyati decided to join the WOJ because of an interest in recording special moments and allowing others to experience the outdoors. 

Sophie is a sophomore ES-Bio major from Corbett, Oregon. She enjoys taking her horses out on the trail, camping, cooking and concerts. Soph decided to join the WOJ because of her passion to promote and talk about diversity and inclusivity in the outdoors. 

Theo is a sophomore from Highland Park, Illinois who enjoys live music, basketball, climbing and skiing. His favorite place to recreate is in Joshua Tree National Park in California. Theo decided to join the WOJ because the outdoors are dope and he’d like to get everyone outside having a good time.

I am a senior from Saint Paul, Minnesota who is majoring in Politics with minors in Rhetoric and Philosophy. My favorite outdoor activities are snowboarding, mountain biking, and making Ben Herron question his life decisions. I love all things outdoors, and dream of living out of Laura, my 2007 Subaru Forester that has a bumper sticker that says "Here I go in my big gay car!"

I'm a junior transfer student from San Diego, CA, majoring in Environmental Humanities. I spend a lot of time outside, namely backpacking, skiing and climbing. I love bananas, peanut butter, and I particularly love pooping outside.

I am a first year from Los Angeles, California, with an intended major in environmental sociology. In the outdoors, I specifically enjoy hiking in the mountains or doing any activities involving water!

I am a first year from Bainbridge Island, WA intending to major in biology and chemistry. My favorite outdoor activities are skiing, backpacking, running, and playing lacrosse. I have always loved the outdoors and I can't wait to keep exploring and take advantage of all the outdoor opportunities while at Whitman.

I am a Sophmore from Austin, Texas and I am majoring in Math/Physics. Whenever I'm not doing Physics I am doing photography, rock climbing, or playing chess. Fun fact about myself is I'm a Bayonetta main in Smash Bros :(

I am a senior from El Dorado Hills, California and I am majoring in Biology-Environmental Studies. My favorite outdoor activities are backpacking, mountain biking, climbing, and playing lacrosse! I have been a Trip Leader for the Outdoor Program's WOOT trips and would love to get into wildlife biology or environmental education post-grad.

I am a Sophomore, Environmental Hunanities major. I enjoy rock-climbing and trail running in my free time. See you out there!

I am a Freshman from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and I am planning on majoring in Environmental Studies and Sociology. I really love to rock climb, and have been climbing outdoors with my dad ever since the age of seven.
